Sunflower, Sunflower

Sunflower, Sunflower, where did you go?
Turning your head to a place we can’t know.
Sunflower, Sunflower, why did you leave?
“To show you the beauty that all might achieve.”
Sunflower, Sunflower, what is your pleasure?
“To look to the sun, to the brightest endeavour.”

Acknowledging shadows at fold of the day,
The sorrowful parting from friends who must stay,
Till returning again to sunshine of smiles,
Cross the shimmering path of invisible miles,
Bringing the joy of additional knowing,
To lighten your pathway,
To strengthen your growing.
Holding again the hands and the hearts,
Joining in friendship the gifts to impart.

Look to the flowers to hear now my call -
The whispered ‘hello’ to one and to all.
I’ll blow - you’ll see the petals fall
And with the flutter of each bloom
The message of a Soul’s perfume.

Gaze now by candlelight upon a flower.
Let’s sit together in the hour.
Photograph - a sweet reminder,
Link in heaven’s daisy chain.
Speak to me for I am ever
To live and learn with you again.
